Adverbs - regular

Adverbs are words that give extra information about the action of a verb.

They are easy to form:

  1. Take an adjective eg 'lento'
  2. Change it to the feminine singular form (o > a) eg 'lenta'
  3. Add on -mente eg lentamente

(Note that if the adjective does not have a feminine form then just add -mente to the singular form)

When you have two adverbs together both ending in -mente, the -mente is often missed off the first one.
