html5 Upgrade and Refresh
I have recently started work on a rolling upgrade and refresh to the activities on languages online.
I am really grateful to the team at the University of Victoria in Canada who have put so much time and effort into the modernisation of their Hot Potatoes software, with which this website is built - a really big "THANK YOU" from me to the team behind Hot Potatoes.
Upgraded units will be html5 compliant, and thus fully responsive on the full range of devices used to access the web nowadays.
Drag and drop functionality will also now work on touch screen devices, which is a superb development, and for that reason you will no longer be offered the "Choice" screens when entering units.
However, the html5 upgrade is forward looking rather than backwards, so if you are using an older browser, you may find that some exercises do not display properly. If this is the case, I have kept a "Legacy" version of each unit - you can access this by clicking the link [(Legacy Unit - for older browsers)] at the bottom of the main unit index page.
I am also taking the opportunity to give activities a refresh, and am introducing a new look as part of a site-wide rebrand.
Work will take several months to complete but will hopefully future-proof the resources on the site for many years to come.
I really hope that you will like the new look and enjoy the benefits of bringing languages online's resources up to date.
